11 Night Cruise sailing from Rome to Lisbon aboard Azamara Pursuit.
With amazing architecture, fabulous food and wines, and a vibrancy in its culture, Spain is truly spellbinding. And on this country-intensive cruise onboard Azamara Pursuit®, you’ll get to immerse yourself in this Iberian nation’s infinite charms.
From Rome, we sail to Barcelona for an overnight stay. Marvel at Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia, the picture-perfect Picasso museum, and the eye-catching blend of classic and modern at the National Theater of Catalonia. Journey to Valencia and tour its impressive Gothic monuments and City of Arts & Sciences. In Cartagena, meander along Calle Mayor and head to Castillo de la Concepción for fantastic views of the city.
Then it’s on to the Mediterranean gateway of Gibraltar for a late-night stay. With rich cultural history and stunning seaside views, it’s an eclectic blend of British, Spanish, and North African influences worth exploring. A two-night stay in Seville follows, giving you plenty of time to soak in all this Andalusian gem has to offer. Visit the world’s largest Gothic cathedral, the ornate Alcázar complex, and Maria Luisa Park—plus, dine at delicious tapas-and-wine bars and catch a flamenco performance.
The journey ends with another overnight stay, this time in Lisbon, Portugal. Take a city sidecar tour, go on a day trip to Sintra, and treat yourself to excellent ports from the Douro Valley.
Highlights of this cruise:
Rome
Always enchanting, the Eternal City will captivate you—no matter how many times you visit. Walk in the steps of gladiators at the Coliseum, channel your inner statesman at the Forum, or gaze up in wonder at Michelangelo's masterwork at St. Peter's Basilica. Pasta and vino are a must, and there are plenty of places to relax and refuel after a day of exploration.
Valencia
Marvel at the stunning mix of innovative architecture and gothic beauty when you visit Valencia. This Spanish city is home to many avant-garde buildings, including the breathtaking City of Arts and Sciences cultural complex. Elsewhere, palaces and mansions constructed in the 15th century dot the cityscape, while The Silk Exchange resembles a medieval fortress housing many mysterious carvings.
Seville
Did you know? Seville is credited with the invention of tapas. Join in with the locals as they graze from bar to bar, making an entire meal out of the experience. The city also has a rich history evident in its landmarks. The Alcazar, the main palace, is exquisitely decorated in Moorish style, with themed gardens laid out in terraces. All in all an abundance of riches for all those who come to call.
Lisbon
One of the oldest cities in the world, Lisbon is rich in architecture and criss-crossed by monument-studded grand boulevards. Must-sees include the church of Igreja de Sao Vicente de Fora, which dates back to the 12th century; Musee Calouste Gulbenkian, one of Europe’s leading fine arts museums; and Torre de Belém, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most famous monuments in Portugal.
