In 2009, Seabourn again raised the bar with the debut of Seabourn Odyssey, hailed as “a game-changer for the ultra-luxury segment.” Although larger than the original Seabourn sisters, Seabourn Odyssey carries just 458 guests and offers a wealth of amenities made possible by the highest ratio of space per guest in the cruise industry, including the largest spa on any luxury ship and generous private verandas on 90 percent of her suites. Seabourn Odyssey has since been joined by two identical sisters, Seabourn Sojourn in 2010 and Seabourn Quest in 2011. Our first 600-passenger ship, Seabourn Encore, was delivered in 2016 and a second 600-passenger ship, Seabourn Ovation, was delivered Spring 2018.

Seabourn Sojourns godmother was the English fashion icon and actress Twiggy. Like her sisters, Seabourn Sojourn enchants her guests with an array of public areas scaled to encourage a relaxed sociability. One of the most unusual features of Seabourn Sojourn and her sisters is Seabourn Square, an ingenious “living room†that replaces the traditional cruise ship lobby with a welcoming lounge filled with easy chairs, sofas and cocktail tables. An enclave in its center houses knowledgeable concierges discreetly seated at individual desks, ready to handle all sorts of business or give advice and information. The ship’s shops are conveniently located just off the Square and it has its own open terrace aft.
The Spa at Seabourn is the largest on any ultra-luxury ship, 11,400 square feet encompassing indoor and outdoor space over two decks. A variety of open terraces are scattered over seven decks, offering places to gather with a few friends or spend an isolated hour with a book. Seabourn Sojourn offers six whirlpools and two swimming pools, including the Pool Patio, with a pair of large whirlpool spas and a “beach†style pool, a casual Patio Grill and the Patio Bar. On the sun deck above sits Seabourn’s popular open-air Sky Bar. High atop Deck 11 is a Sun Terrace with 36 tiered double sun beds. Just aft of that is The Retreat, with shuffleboard courts and a nine-hole putting green. The panoramic Observation Bar on Deck 10 offers 270° forward views over the sea. The Club is a lively spot for dancing before and after dinner, while the larger Grand Salon is used for dancing as well as lectures, production vocal shows, cabaret performances and classical recitals.

This “city that floats on water” sprawls over 14 islands that are linked by over 50 bridges, which cross winding waterways in all directions. To the east is an archipelago of thousands of islands in different shapes, sizes and contours. Venice, for all its gondolas, does not approach the water traffic of Stockholm. The hundreds of small boats that line the inlets and canals testify to the passion of every family to own and sail a boat.
Tallinn, Estonia
The capital of Estonia, Tallinn was called Reval until the 20th century. The port’s ideal maritime position has always been a temptation to other nations and won it a position in the Hanseatic League. This cross-cultural history gives Tallinn a special ambience that visitors appreciate. The main attraction is the Old Town. Perched on a low hill by the shore, its fortification walls, worn cobbled streets and 13th-century buildings make it one of the purest medieval towns in all of northern Europe. With about a half-million inhabitants, Tallinn comprises almost a third of Estonia’s population. Outside of town there is rich dairy land and along the coast stretch expansive sand beaches.
St. Petersburg, Russia
Founded in 1703 by Peter the Great, Russia’s second largest city and principal Baltic port contains a tsar’s ransom in architecture, palaces and art treasures. Once the capital of Imperial Russia and playground of Russia’s elite, the city’s name was changed following the 1917 revolution to Petrograd, then Leningrad, before resuming its original name in 1991. St. Petersburg is patterned after Western capitals with canals reminiscent of Venice, a grand boulevard that evokes Paris and a spirit that is uniquely Russian.
Copenhagen, Denmark
Vibrant Copenhagen, Denmark’s capital, sits on the coastal islands of Zealand and Amager. Originally a Viking fishing village established in the 10th century, Copenhagen today is one the world’s most liveable cities. Its open spaces and lively street life, along with city planning favoring cyclists and pedestrians, encourage inhabitants to enjoy a lifestyle with an emphasis on community, culture and cuisine. Copenhagen is a highly cultured city, offering highlights including the National Gallery of Denmark, which holds 240,000 works of art, the Ny Carlsberg Museum with its spectacular collection of ancient sculptures from Egypt, Rome and Greece and Rosenborg Castle, where the Danish Crown Jewels are exhibited. Life in Copenhagen is lived on the seat of a bicycle: everybody rides one. Invergordon (Inverness), Scotland, United Kingdom
A turbulent past of epic battles, clan rivalries and legendary monsters, combined with the many natural wonders of the Scottish Highlands, make this part of Scotland truly fascinating. Invergordon is an ideal jumping-off point for exploring the northern highlands. A trip to the region wouldn’t be complete without a visit to legendary Loch Ness, reputed to be the home of ‘Nessie,’ the Loch Ness Monster. The loch contains the largest amount of freshwater in the British Isles, actually more than all of the lakes in England and Wales combined. Discover the quaint Victorian seaside resort of Nairn, and the secrets of the whisky-making process in the area’s many distilleries. The area surrounding Invergordon is remarkable for its historical significance. From the very early days of the Bronze Age, migrating Neolithic hunter-gatherers settled here, leaving their legacies at places like the Clava Cairns. Likewise, the battlefield of Culloden is nearby, where in 1745 the final, fateful clash of the Jacobite uprisings occurred.
Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom
Belfast is Northern Ireland’s fun-loving and cosmopolitan capital. Its seat of government is Stormont Castle, a beautiful baronial mansion. There is something of interest here for everyone: Victorian architecture, a glittering waterfront, modern art, and over 90 Irish pubs. The Giant’s Ring, a 5,000-year- old stone ‘henge’ shows occupation here since the Bronze Age. The magnificent copper dome of Belfast City Hall dominates the city centre. Belfast is also the site of the memorial statue for R.M.S Titanic, because it was here that the ship was built in 1909. Mixing the traditional with the ultra-modern, the Titanic Belfast Museum commemorates the fate of Titanic in its architecture. Shaped like the great prow of the ocean liner, the museum’s exhibits tell the story of the ill-fated vessel. Some additional icons of the city include the 113’ (34 m) Albert Memorial clock tower, the 12th century Belfast Castle, and the twin spires of St. Peter’s Cathedral. Douglas, Isle Of Man, United Kingdom
The town of Douglas is the center of the Isle of Man’s business, shipping, transport, shopping, and entertainment. It derives its name from the early Celtic word Duboglassio, meaning ‘black river.’ Located in the Irish Sea, equidistant from England, Scotland and Ireland, the Isle of Man is a self-governing possession of the British Crown and is not part of the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth, or an Overseas Territory, but instead holds a semiautonomous status. It is home to the world’s oldest continuous parliament, known as the Tynwald Court. The Isle of Man is a melting pot of character and taste, blessed with an extensive coastline, stunning natural landscapes and unspoiled beaches. It is home to numerous nature reserves, parks, historic stone churches, castles and an abundance of diverse museums, including ones dedicated to aviation, military, motorcycle, railway, folk, and nautical exhibits. At the House of Manannan Museum visitors are guided through interactive displays focusing on the island’s Celtic and Viking past.
Portland, England, United Kingdom
Portland Island and the resort town of Weymouth are connected by a 5-mile (8 km) long neck of white sand known as Chesil Beach. Renowned as the finest example of a barrier-type beach in Europe, Chesil Beach was formed 10,000 years ago as glaciers receded and sea levels rose. The rugged coastline of Dorset and the many attractions in the area are what make Weymouth such a popular vacation destination. The Old Harbour of Weymouth is an excellent Georgian-style harbor and one of the prettiest in Europe. It bustles with activity from large catamarans, fishing boats and yachts. Weymouth Sea Life Adventure Park displays over 1,000 incredible sea creatures including sea turtles, crabs, octopuses and sharks. The nearby Abbotsbury Sub-Tropical Gardens is an impressive walled garden set in 20 acres (8 hectares) of woodland. Portland Island offers stunning views across the Chesil Beach, Portland Harbour, Fleet Lagoon and Weymouth. The little egret, once a rare bird in Britain, is now regularly seen along these shores.
Amsterdam, The Netherlands
The delightfully attractive city of Amsterdam is home to many of the world’s great art treasures, and is a major center of the glamorous diamond trade as well. Unique architectural styles of the past blend with superb modern structures, and the web of curved and straight canals makes the city as easy to traverse by water as by land.
