2022 IBERIAN PENINSULA GOLF CRUISE WITH PERRYGOLFâ„¢
We’re delighted to again partner with PerryGolf™, one of the game’s leading providers of international golf vacations, for this 8-night, 4-round voyage around the Iberian Peninsula that includes a special daylight sailing up the Guadalete River to the historic city of Seville.
We depart from Lisbon onboard the 700-guest Azamara Quest for an overnight sail and early evening arrival to Seville. This area is rich with Andalusian and Roman history, architecture, flamenco and is credited with inventing tapas. The two overnights we have in port will allow you time to explore and to play the Royal Seville Golf Club, designed by José MarÃa Olazábal. Next in Gibraltar, our sightseers will visit The Rock which rises nearly 1,400 feet out of nowhere while our golfers will play Valderrama, a perennial world 100 club remembered for hosting the 1997 Ryder Cup when captain Seve Ballesteros lead Europe to victory. Our next two days will visit Malaga found along Spain’s famous Costa del Sol and in Cartagena which has been colonized by nearly every superpower over the centuries from the Romans to the Visigoths each of whom have left their cultural mark. Its back to the golf course in Valencia at El Saler, a links style layout on the beach. Be sure to tour Oceanogrà fic – one of the world’s biggest aquariums with polar zones, underwater tunnels and an underwater restaurant. Barcelona will bring us to a fitting conclusion with another overnight in port and play at Greg Norman’s El Prat. Azamara ships are almost always able to dock at the foot of Las Ramblas meaning you can walk directly into town.
Every aspect of the golf program is fully managed by PerryGolf’s staff onboard and ashore. Your clubs will be ready and waiting at each venue. Tee times and pairings are arranged and posted in advance. Carts are included where available. A box lunch is included at the course along with an open bar at the conclusion of each round.

Barcelona, Spain
Dynamic Barcelona is all about architecture, from the magnificent medieval buildings of the Gothic Quarter to the Modernist movement typified by the work of Antoni Gaudi. Though his materials were stone and metal, his forms were organic, awash in curves, swirls, and colors. His masterpiece is the amazing Church of the Sagrada Familia, colossal and as yet unfinished, though construction began in 1882. A contemporary contribution to the scene is Ricardo Bofill’s post modernist National Theater of Catalonia, an imaginative combination of classical and modern design, with a greenhouse-like lobby.
Valencia, Spain
Marvel at the stunning mix of innovative architecture and gothic beauty when you visit Valencia. This Spanish city is home to many avant-garde buildings, including the breathtaking City of Arts and Sciences cultural complex. Elsewhere, palaces and mansions constructed in the 15th century dot the cityscape, while The Silk Exchange resembles a medieval fortress housing many mysterious carvings.
Cartagena, Spain
The seat of ancient Carthage, this Spanish port city is steeped in over 2,000 years of history. Start at the Naval Museum to learn more about the “City of Cultures”, then set out to explore everything from Roman ruins right up to modern creations inspired by Gaudi.
Malaga, Spain
Málaga is like a beautiful work of art. And it’s no wonder considering, considering it was the birthplace of Picasso. You’ll find a museum commemorating his birth here, which is a must-visit destination for art fans. Elsewhere, be sure to spend some time in the city’s Alcazaba, a 11th-century citadel that is home to three palaces, beautiful gardens, and opulent fountains.
Seville Spain
Did you know? Seville is credited with the invention of tapas. Join in with the locals as they graze from bar to bar, making an entire meal out of the experience. The city also has a rich history evident in its landmarks. The Alcazar, the main palace, is exquisitely decorated in Moorish style, with themed gardens laid out in terraces. All in all an abundance of riches for all those who come to call.

One of the oldest cities in the world, Lisbon is rich in architecture and criss-crossed by monument-studded grand boulevards. Must-sees include the church of Igreja de Sao Vicente de Fora, which dates back to the 12th century; Musee Calouste Gulbenkian, one of Europe’s leading fine arts museums; and Torre de Belém, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most famous monuments in Portugal.
