12 Night Cruise sailing from Istanbul to Athens aboard Azamara Pursuit.
This voyage through the beauty of the Black Sea begins with an overnight stay in Istanbul, Turkey, where the culture is as diverse as the cuisine. Grab a kebab at a local kebapçıs, then stop in at an authentic meyhanes (Turkish tavern) for a drink. Then, it’s off to Varna, Bulgaria’s maritime capital, for a late night stay. This cosmopolitan seaside town offers the perfect opportunity to sample a few premium Bulgarian wines.
Constanta, Romania, is next, followed by an overnight stay in Odessa, Ukraine. Here, visit beautiful Catherine Square and take a stroll along Prymorsky Boulevard (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Then, enjoy a performance at the Odessa Opera and Ballet Theater. As the sun rises on your second day in Odessa, walk the sweeping Potemkin Steps before making your way to the Archaeology Museum — famous for its fascinating collection of coins and medals.
After a day spent relaxing at sea, it’s off to vibrant Canakkale, Turkey, followed by Kavala and a late night stay in Thessaloniki, Greece. In Kavala, visit the 280-meter aqueduct constructed in the 16th century by the Ottomans. And in Thessaloniki, make your way along the vibrant waterfront under the city’s famous landmark, the White Tower.
After another late night in Volos, this journey concludes with an unforgettable overnight stay in iconic Athens — where the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Acropolis, and Temple of Hephaestus (just to name a few) are waiting.

Constanta
A cultural and economic center for over 2,600 years, Constanta holds archaeological treasures and the charming atmosphere of the old town center. Its historical monuments, ancient ruins, grand casino, museums and shops, and proximity to beach resorts make it a seaside gem that isn’t on the map for most cruises. Plus, beautiful Bucharest is just a shore excursion away.
Kepez
Kepez is a small seaside town, but real treasures can be found when you explore further beyond the shore. The ancient city of Troy was once just a myth, but archaeological excavations have brought this fabled locale to life. Also within reach of port is the Gallipoli Peninsula, where an ill-fated WWI campaign devastated Allied forces. In Assos, the Temple of Athena sits perched on an acropolis with sweeping sea views.
Kavala
Clinging to the foothills of Mt. Symvolo, the city of Kavala (“the heart of Eastern Macedoniaâ€) rises like an amphitheater out of the sea, with historical monuments and buildings almost too plentiful to list.
Athens
Start your journey in Piraeus with an archaeological walk past landmarks like the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Ancient Agora, and of course, the Acropolis. Afterwards, head to the Central Market for a feast of fresh fruit and veggies, nuts, olives, and Grecian cheese. Finally, check out a local taverna where you can rub elbows with the locals well into the wee hours of the night.
