11 Night cruise sailing from Barcelona to Athens aboard Azamara Journey.
We are thrilled to again partner with PerryGolf™, one of the game’s most innovative providers of international golf vacations, for this 11-night, 5-round voyage through the Mediterranean onboard the 690-guest Azamara Journey.
We embark from Barcelona where you might want to visit early to see the astounding Sagrada Familia among the many sights in this spectacular city. After a night time sail to Palma de Majorca, we arrive for a full day including our first game at Son Gual, the most highly regarded club in the Balearic Islands. After a relaxing day at sea we arrive in Corsica, the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte, where we’ll play Robert Trent Jones’ Pevero Golf Club. Our late departure will allow for a full exploration of Porto-Vecchio including the Old Town’s Place de la République which is lively at night. The golf jewel of our voyage is next at Sperone, another RTJ design described as Europe’s Pebble Beach. We sightsee for the next two days beginning with Trapani in Sicily then Valletta in Malta which is one of the world’s most concentrated UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Play at I Monasteri Golf Club in Siracusa, Sicily is followed by a day a sea before we reach Crete for our final round at the Crete Golf Club, the only 18-hole course on the island built to USGA specifications. Spectacular Santorini is yours for the last day before we sail to Athens to disembark.
Every aspect of the golf program is fully managed by PerryGolf staff onboard and ashore. Your clubs will be ready and waiting at each venue. Tee times and pairings are arranged and posted in advance. Carts are always included, subject to availability. A snack lunch is included at the course along with an open bar after the round.

Barcelona, Spain
Barcelona is a cosmopolitan masterpiece. With a history rich in art and architecture, medieval, Gothic, and modern influences can be seen all over the city. Start at the waterfront and stroll up the shady, tree-lined Las Ramblas boulevard and discover some of the city’s best shopping and bustling cafes.
Palma De Mallorca, Spain
A modern city with an ancient past, Palma’s rich history is yours to explore. Architecture admirers must visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria of Palma, an iconic Gothic Roman Catholic cathedral that has stood for nearly 800 years. For nature lovers, don’t miss the Caves of Drach, where light and shadow dances across the rock formations, creating incomparable visuals you won’t see anywhere else.
Olbia, Sardinia
Olbia has been inhabited since the 8th century BC, but a recent archaeological discovery of 24 shipwrecks has landed it in the spotlight. The name Olbia means “happy town”, though its past has been difficult, with the city destroyed and rebuilt many times throughout its history. Of course that makes it all the more interesting, as every empire has left something of value behind for you to see.
Porto-Vecchio, Corsica, France
Dating back to the 16th century, the fortified port town of Porto Vecchio is now a resort destination. Visit the Church of Saint Jean-Baptiste for panoramic views of the sea and surrounding valley, or enjoy an afternoon at one of Corsica’s famous beaches, Palombaggia and Santa Guilia. As dusk settles, head to the Old Town’s Place de la République for its lively nightlife, bars, and restaurants.
Valletta
Everywhere you look in Valletta, there’s wonder to behold. Look down in St. John’s Co-Cathedral and discover “The most beautiful floor in the world.†Look up while wandering the streets and see colorful balconies filled with locals going about their day. Look beyond the city’s small size (less than half a square mile) and you’ll find a blend of old and new architecture that’s not to miss.
Heraklion
As the largest city on the isle of Crete, with a history that dates back to the 9th century, Heraklion has seen its share of travelers over the millennia. It’s been ruled by the Arab, Venetian, and Ottoman empires. It’s hosted international athletes during the 2004 Olympics. And now, as a new port of call for Azamara, Heraklion welcomes you with a wealth of timeless experiences.
Athens
Start your journey in Piraeus with an archaeological walk past landmarks like the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Ancient Agora, and of course, the Acropolis. Afterwards, head to the Central Market for a feast of fresh fruit and veggies, nuts, olives, and Grecian cheese. Finally, check out a local taverna where you can rub elbows with the locals well into the wee hours of the night.
