13 Night Cruise sailing from Oslo to Amsterdam onboard Azamara Journey.
Your journey begins in Oslo, where you’ll find brightly painted wooden houses and nods to Norway’s maritime history and Viking era. Then, see why artists flock to the seaside town of Skagen with its wild landscape and windswept beaches.
Next, we sail for Copenhagen where we’ll stay late. Cruise the canals, cross city squares, or see it all on two wheels—it’s one of the most cycle-friendly cities in the world.
A day at sea being pampered at Sanctum spa is followed by our arrival in Tallinn’s colorful, medieval streets. The next stop on your journey is Russia. Extravagant palaces, shimmering golden domes, lavish churches – you could easily spend three days simply marveling at the architecture of St. Petersburg.
Next up, the charming city of Helsinki, followed by a rejuvenating day at sea before our arrival in Berlin. A late stay in port means more time to explore the WWII and Cold War relics dotting the city, including a surviving section of the Berlin Wall. A gentle cruise through the Kiel Canal takes you to our final destination, the Venice of the North—Amsterdam.

Oslo, Norway
Discover the beautiful Tiger City when you arrive in Oslo, Norway’s gorgeous capital. Take in a performance by the National Ballet Company at the new Oslo Opera House, or stroll the Damstredet, a perfectly-preserved slice of Norwegian history where you’ll find wooden houses dating back to the 1700s. Historians will also want to visit Oslo’s many historic vessels, including the Fram and Kon Tiki.
Skagen, Denmark
This seaside town is one of Denmark’s main fishing ports, a cute little get-away destination with lovely beaches. Each July the town hosts a major folk festival, with performances by bands from around the world – folk, folk rock, jazz, ballads, blues, and perhaps some never before heard new variations on the theme.
Copenhagen, Denmark

Tallinn, Estonia
Embrace the wonderfully independent spirit of Tallinn. During your visit, take a walk up Toompea hill for a lovely view of Tallinn’s diverse skyline and architecture. Then, visit St. Olav’s Church, believed to have been the world’s tallest building…in 1625. From here, you’re not far from St. Catherine’s Passage, where you’ll discover many delightful craft workshops to explore.
St. Petersburg, Russia
Affectionately referred to as the Venice of the North, St. Petersburg is home to an incredibly diverse array of architecture. From golden domed churches to opulent palaces, St. Petersburg is certain to leave you in awe. In particular, don’t miss the Winter Palace, located within the Hermitage complex, one of the world’s largest museums and home to more three million works of art and artifacts!
Helsinki, Finland
Helsinki is a successful blend of traditional and modern architecture and design, interwoven with the beauty of nature, and a few quirky, purely Finnish touches—such as a church built inside a giant chunk of granite. Popular attractions include the Ateneum Art Museum, Esplanade Park, Design District Helsinki, Market Square, and Suomenlinna Sea Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Warnemunde, (Berlin), Germany
A stone’s throw away from the 800-year-old Hanseatic city of Rostock, Warnemünde is a beautiful seaside town on the Baltic. Enjoy windsurfing, take in an international sailing competition, and enjoy the broadest beaches on the German Baltic Sea. Der Alte Strom is awash in restaurants offering traditional fare, while the Warnemünde Lighthouse offers incredible views of the Baltic.
Kiel Canal, Germany
This is the world’s busiest artificial waterway, linking the North Sea with the Baltic. Operating since 1895, it was widened to accommodate larger vessels in early 20th century. Still narrow enough to keep ships close to shore, and with no locks, it’s basically a gentle cruise through the backyards and gardens of local folk, whom you may see riding their bicycles or picnicking on a fine afternoon.
Amsterdam, Netherlands
With more canals than Venice, Amsterdam is a winding wonder of waterways just waiting to be explored. Whether by boat or by foot, learn about the city’s past inhabitants such as Rembrandt, Van Gogh, and Anne Frank. You’ll soon discover there’s so much more to Amsterdam than windmills and wooden shoes.
