15 Night Cruise sailing from Vancouver to Seward aboard Hanseatic Inspiration.

Alaska’s one-time gold rush has given way to breathtaking natural experiences that you will discover on one of the world’s most spectacular shipping passages: with vast expanses, wilderness and the wonders of creation.

Highlights of this cruise:

Vancouver
Vancouver is the largest city in Western Canada, and third largest in Canada. Located at the southwestern corner of the coastal province of British Columbia, it is nestled between the coastal mountains and the Pacific ocean and is well known for its natural beauty. It has often been named the “World’s Most Liveable City” and is certainly a beautiful destination to visit.

In Vancouver you can ski in the mountains, windsurf in the ocean, and play a round of golf all in the same day. Surrounded by water on three sides, Vancouver is a major sea port on the Pacific Ocean, and a base for many Alaska Cruise Ships in the summer. Around the edge of its waterfront, Vancouver has fabulous beaches, parklands and a bustling harbour.

Wrangell
Wrangell is a city and borough in Alaska, United States. Wrangell is located on Alaska’s Inside Passage, on the northern tip of Wrangell Island, an island in the Alaska Panhandle. It is 250 km (155 miles) south of the Alaskan capital of Juneau. This waterfront town is a central hub for goods, services and transportation for outlying areas; the harbour is busy with a large fleet of tugs and commercial fishing vessels.

Front Street is the heart of Wrangell’s business district and the eastern side of the street is a historical area featuring buildings with quite distinctive false fronts left over from the gold rush days.

Visitors to Wrangell can experience unique and pristine wilderness and abundant wildlife. There are a variety of excursions to see glaciers, black and brown bears, eagles, sea lions, harbour seals, whales, salmon and halibut to name a few. Anan Bear and Wildlife Observatory is a favourite spot to view brown and black bears feasting on salmon.

The Tlingit Chief Shakes Island and Tribal House Historic Monument are popular tourist attractions in Wrangell. The Petroglyph Beach State Historic Park features primitive rock carvings believed to be 8000 years old. Travel the Stikine River to visit the places where gold miners camped and garnets were mined.

Hubbard Glacier
Hubbard Glacier is a tidewater glacier in the U.S. state of Alaska and the Yukon Territory of Canada. From its source in the Yukon, the glacier stretches 122 km (76 mi) to the sea at Yakutat Bay and Disenchantment Bay. It is the longest tidewater glacier in Alaska, with an open calving face over ten kilometers (6 miles) wide.

The longest tidewater glacier in Alaska, with an open calving face over six miles wide, the Hubbard Glacier is also one of the most active glaciers of its kind in Alaska. These glaciers calve when giant pieces of ice crack off the head of the glacier and fall into the sea. While the faces of most glaciers advance very slowly if at all, Hubbard is an exception, its face is continually moving farther out into the sea.

Cruises are designed to provide passengers with the best viewing possible anywhere and you’ll be able to see this massive natural wonder of blue ice from just about anywhere onboard.

Kodiak
Kodiak is one of six communities and the main city on Kodiak Island in Kodiak Island Borough in the U.S. state of Alaska. It is famous for huge Kodiak brown bears, world-class sport fishing and is one of the largest commercial fishing ports in Alaska.

Attractions at Kodiak include the Russian Orthodox Church, the Baranof Museum, Alutiiq Museum & Archaeological Repository and the Fish Industrial Technology Center at Herman Harbor.

Bear viewing can be done at the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge, habitat of the brown bear. Kayaking, fishing and hiking are also popular activities in and around Kodiak.

Seward
Seward is a city in Kenai Peninsula Borough in the U.S. state of Alaska, located 126 miles south of Anchorage. The city is very picturesque and quaint; it resembles a port city and an alpine resort town and is known as the “Gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park”.

Seward is also one of the oldest towns in Alaska. The historic district is full of art galleries, local handicraft shops and other shops of keen interest to tourists. Other attractions include the Alaska Sealife Center, a seven acre waterfront public aquarium. Glacier and wildlife cruises are also a must while visiting Seward.
