Make the narrow passage through Trollfjord, one of Norway’s most picturesque coastlines and said to be the origin of the legends of trolls. Ashore in destinations like Vega Island, set out in the largely unexplored wildlands, and make Reine the starting point for your hiking, biking, kayaking and fishing quests. The Lofoten Archipelago will also enchant you with its ethereal beauty and playgrounds for adventure.
Cultural adventures about here, as Bergen – a UNESCO World Heritage City and European Capital of Culture – reflects its days as a royal residence and epicenter of Norway’s religious corps. Tromsø offers a glimpse into the region’s scientific innovations, while Svolvaer remembers the time of the mighty Vikings and Kirkwall is an excellent example of a Norse settlement.

Tromso
Long renowned as an important center of science and exploration, Tromsø lies on a forest-covered island in a narrow waterway, hemmed in by steep mountains and connected to the mainland by a bridge. The imaginative Arctic Cathedral, the Polaria Centre and a scenic cable car ride are among its varied attractions.
Skarsvag
Bearing the distinction as the world’s northernmost fishing village, Skarsvag is located on the island of Magerøya just eight miles from the North Cape. The geological wonder of Kirkeporten here is a marvel that magnifies the midnight sun, which shines through the several meters-long fissure in the rocky cliff, creating breathtaking views and reflections.
Alesund
Charmingly eccentric and steeped in its own very unique architecture, Alesund boasts an outrageous collection of pastel-colored buildings, with towers and turrets, alongside (surprise!) pharaohs and dragons that peer down upon fascinated passersby. It’s architecture is a surprising result and a testament to its citizens coming together to rebuild their city after a devastating fire in 1904. It took three years of construction, fueled by the Jugenstil movement, embodying a style that most closely resembles Art Nouveau. The result: uncommonly wonderful.
Flam
Boasting dramatic nature and a serene atmosphere, the tiny village of Flåm is situated in the innermost part of the Sognefjord and surrounded by breathtaking mountains. From this tranquil area, one of the world’s most remarkably engineered railway lines originates and winds its way far above the sea, providing views of some of Norway’s wildest and most magnificent scenery. At the foot of the mountains, you can enjoy the natural beauty of the Flåm Valley and admire the majestic Aurlandfjord.
Edinburgh (Leith)
Dominated by a medieval castle on a towering crag, Edinburgh is the celebrated capital of Scotland and boasts more than a thousand years of vibrant historical heritage. The Exchange building, the famous Royal Mile featuring St. Giles Cathedral and John Knox House, as well as Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Queens official residence in Scotland, are only a few of the architectural masterpieces found in this delightful Scottish city.
Greenwich
Located the banks of the River Thames, Greenwich is home to rich history both regal and naval – with UNESCO-designated palaces, museums and London’s prettiest royal park. But more than anything, Greenwich is home to time itself for it is here that the world’s Prime Meridian – longitude zero – is marked in the Royal Observatory. Visit Greenwich Palace where King Henry VIII and Elizabeth I were born, and where Anne Boleyn was arrested and taken by boat to The Tower of London.
