There are two classes of APT river ships:

Aria Class ships boast an innovative leading-edge design. Launched between 2006 and 2009, they have been the most popular ships in Europe for some time.

Concerto Class river ships – These revolutionary vessels present the popular attributes of Aria Class ships while introducing some new features certain to appeal to many. Slightly larger, these ships are set to change the way the industry looks at river ship design, thanks in part to their exclusive range of Twin Balcony Suites.

Day 1 Arrive Arles, Embark Ship
Arrive in Arles, where your elegant vessel is waiting. Tonight’s welcome reception is the perfect way to get to know everyone, including your cruise director and crew.

Stay: Seven Nights, an Aria River Ship

Day 2 Arles, Avignon
Set out on a guided exploration of Arles this morning and admire the charming sun-baked buildings that inspired many of Van Gogh’s paintings. As you continue to Avignon, you can’t help but be drawn to its imposing château, the Palace of the Popes, which is also on today’s agenda. This incredible structure is one of the largest and most important medieval Gothic buildings in all of Europe.

Day 3 Tournon
FREEDOM OF CHOICEâ„¢ – Sightseeing
Take a ride on the Ardèche Steam Train, winding through the Doux gorge. For wine lovers, visit the historic Maison M. Chapoutier winery for a tasting. Otherwise, enjoy a guided bike ride with a stop at the Valrhona Chocolate Factory for a little indulgence.

Day 4 Vienne, Lyon

A morning walking tour of Vienne reveals its spectacular Roman ruins, including a theatre and temple. Alternatively, hike to Mount Pipet for panoramic views of the town below.

After your morning activity, it’s time to head back on board as your ship sets sail for Lyon. On arrival, become acquainted with this picturesque city during an orientation tour.

Day 5 Lyon
SIGNATURE EXPERIENCE
This evening, dine at L’Abbaye de Collonges, founded by renowned chef, the late Paul Bocuse.

See what makes the food in Lyon so famous on a discovery of the city’s fresh food market. Otherwise, explore the sights with a local guide or embark on a bike tour. You also have the option to visit the Beaujolais wine region.

Day 6 Tournus

Set out on a guided exploration of Tournus, including a visit to the Abbey of Saint Philibert. Alternatively, travel to Château Cormatin for a guided tour.

The day unfolds just the way you’d like it, thanks to a choice of activities on offer.

Day 7 Chalon-Sur-Saone
Explore Beaune, an ancient town encircled by medieval ramparts. With its surrounding landscapes blanketed in grapevines, it comes as no surprise that Beaune is renowned for its production of fine Burgundy wines.

Day 8 Chalon-Sur-Saone, Disembark Ship, Paris
Leave your ship and travel to Le Creusot Montceau, where you’ll jump on a train bound for Paris. On arrival, your second vessel is waiting for you on the Seine.

Day 9 Paris
SIGNATURE EXPERIENCE
This evening, a night of glittering feathers and sparkling lights awaits as you take in a Parisian Cabaret show at the Lido.

Stay and explore, or head out on a World War II excursion to the beaches of Normandy. You might like to taste the fruits of the Pays de Caux region with a visit to a unique cider farm.

The old fishing village of Caudebec-en-Caux greets you with colourful buildings dotted along its harbour.

Day 13 Rouen

Look back on World War I at the Somme Battlefields. Otherwise stay in the city and see the Notre Dame Cathedral and the square where Joan of Arc was martyred, or play a round of golf.

From Rouen, set out on your preferred activity. Tonight, come together for a gala farewell dinner.

Day 14 Vernon, Giverny

See one of Monet’s greatest inspirations, the water lilies at his house and gardens in Giverny. Or take the scenic route, pedalling from the river all the way to Monet’s house.

Arrive in Vernon and set out on your choice of sightseeing experience.
